In the event of school closure

School Closures

There are occasions when the school has to be closed in order to ensure the safety of both the students and the staff. In most cases the decision to close is made if snow or ice means that the buses cannot run safely or if the school site is deemed unsafe. Similarly, if a significant number of staff are unable to travel to school because of the severe conditions (some of whom travel a considerable distance), then the decision to close may also be necessary. It is, however, our desire and intention to keep the school open whenever possible. In the event that severe weather causes us to close the school, we will inform you as soon as possible. Information will also be posted on our own school website. Please keep a regular eye on the school website for updates, and tune into one of these stations for announcements of school closures:

Free Radio        96.4 FM

BBC Radio WM  95.6 FM

Heart FM          100.7 FM

Please do not call the school to find out if we are open. We will post school closures on the school website, our Twitter feed and a text message will be sent to your mobile. Please ensure that the office has your latest mobile phone number.
