About St Wilfrid's

t Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School are proud to be part of the Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Multi Academy Company. This comprises of 13 schools (12 Primary and 1 Secondary) across Birmingham, Warwickshire and Solihull. Since 1st April 2021 we have been working together to secure, protect and improve Catholic education today, and for generations to come. Together we are 'Strong in Faith'.

At St Wilfrid's Catholic Primary School, we cater for children aged 3 years to 11 years. The nursery unit is non-denominational and has a separate admissions criteria. Nursery admission enquiries and applications are coordinated by our school office. We have around 360 pupils on roll plus our nursery offering 15 hours universal entitlement for 3-4 year olds with provision for 26 full-time  places (Monday to Wednesday).

St Wilfrid's RC Primary School opened as a one-form entry school in 1959 in Shawsdale Road on the Firs estate. Then in 2012, the school had an exciting new build that will took us to a two-form entry primary school. We have bright, cheerful classrooms, ICT suite, library and 2 halls used for both PE and lunch. We have large playgrounds and some super climbing frames.

St Wilfrid's Catholic Primary School is part of the Catholic Diocese of Birmingham and we offer a moral education, which follows the teachings of the Church and encourages the children to grow in love and respect for one another and the world about them. Through a rich and varied Catholic curriculum, opportunities are provided for the children to develop lively and enquiring minds. They are encouraged to grow in confidence and maturity and develop relevant skills for the future. We help the children to consider the wider world issues such as famines and disasters, environmental issues and local concerns and we support their efforts to alleviate the suffering and hardships of others.

St Wilfrid’s has gained the Silver Rights Respecting Schools Award through our work with UNICEF and the rights of the child as well as holding the Quality Mark.  We are recognised as a National Healthy School, and we continually educate, encourage and support all of our children in living healthy lifestyles through eating, physical activity, emotional well-being and PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education). This contributes significantly in providing all our children with the knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes to make decisions about being and staying safe, while enjoying and achieving in what they do. We work with specialist providers to give the children with high quality ICT and PE lessons and a range of after school clubs.
