British values

British Values The DfE has recently reinforced the need "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs." As a Catholic school, we follow the example set by Jesus and this is at the heart of all that we do and ensures that British Values are also at the heart of everything we do:
Democracy
The Rule of Law
Individual Liberty
Mutual Respect
An embrace of those of Different Faiths and Beliefs

We have recently been awarded  the Recognition of Commitment (ROC) to become  a 'Rights Respecting School' - A UNICEF initiative.  This stage is about us showing that both children and adults are working together to develop a whole-school rights respecting approach. We are working towards an accreditation for Level 1 of this award, progressing towards embedding the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child .
