Dear parents/carers,

As you are well aware, the government would like schools to start to re-open to Nursery, Reception, Year One and Year Six children from 1st June 2020.

We have been hard at work processing all the guidance which has been coming from the Department for Education setting out how this might be done.

Our risk assessment and planning at St. Wilfrid’s has been, and will always be, for the safe-guarding and well being of our children, staff and parents.

There are a great many questions to be asked and I attach a Frequently Asked Questions sheet with this letter, which I hope will address many of your concerns.

Having considered the risks associated with the re-opening of St. Wilfrid’s to a greater number of children, the Governing Body and I, have concluded that school will re-open in the following phases, to ensure the safety and well-being of children and staff.

Phase One

Monday 1st June 2020 –

School continues to be open for present group of attendees (keyworkers, etc).

Phase Two

No earlier than 8th June 2020-

Welcoming back Nursery, Reception and Year One children whose parents have indicated the need for, and therefore, have been allocated a place.

Nursery- Monday-Friday am

Reception and Year 1- Monday to Friday – please note Friday am only.

Phase Three

An aim to welcome back Year Six children at some point before the end of term.

Thank you to those parents who returned the questionnaire indicating whether you intended to send your children back in or not at this present time – it has been invaluable to our planning.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.  We look forward to welcoming you back before too long and be assured you and your families remain in our thoughts and prayers.

Continue doing the incredible job you are with your children in these strangest of times and stay safe.

Yours sincerely,

R. Baker and J, Fiorletta
