DfE Free School Meal Vouchers

17th April 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have placed our order for supermarket voucher codes from the DfE (Department for Education) for those families who claim free school meals.

You are eligible to claim free school meals for your child, up to the age of 19 years, if you (or your child) get one of the following:

  • Income support
  • Income-based Jobseeker Allowance
  • Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for the 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Universal Credit

You will have already registered with BCC and our school office has your details.

Edenred UK are working with the Department for Education (DfE) to deliver supermarket vouchers to those families, where schools are not able to make food available directly to families.

You will receive this support in the form of an eCode that you can redeem online from a selection of supermarket ‘eGift cards’ if the school has a working email address for you.
